I am a Certified Athletic Trainer that has spent the last three years working within various levels of college athletics ranging from NCAA D1 to Junior College. I love Athletic Training because not only do I get the satisfaction of helping athletes by preventing, treating, and rehabilitating injuries; but also, the nostalgic sense of being a part of a team again. Being a multi-sport athlete for the majority of my life, as well as a four-year college athlete (softball), I felt like I lost a part of my identity when I had to leave that part of my life behind. As an Athletic Trainer working with specific sports teams, you become integrated into that connection again, which gives you a special bond with the athletes that you care for. There have always been parts of Athletic Training that didn’t sit right with me, and I’ve always wanted to venture more to the fitness side of the industry. However, I didn’t think that I would be changing career paths this early. Due to COVID-19 and sports being canceled, I had to branch out of my comfort zone and explore other opportunities. That is how I ended up at Intelligent Fitness. Not having sports or teams to take care of, I began to feel like I was losing a part of my identity, yet again. As soon as I met with Danielle and Anna, I could tell I wanted to be a part of the IF team. They made me comfortable outside of my comfort zone, and I believe that the atmosphere and philosophies at IF not only align with who I am as a professional, but who I am as a person.

Although I have not been a personal trainer before, I believe that I hold a lot of knowledge, background, experience, and dedication that will provide me with a good foundation to build on. If there’s anything I’ve learned from my experiences leading up to this new adventure, it is this: It is not what we do that makes us who we are, it is our thoughts, ideals, and behavior. I did not lose my identity when I lost softball and Athletic Training. My identity is someone who serves others with integrity, compassion, and purpose; who always brings the best version of themselves to the table, and inspires others to do the same; and that chooses hard work and dedication over mediocrity. Adversity encourages growth and learning, so it’s important to step out of your comfort zone. Outside of your comfort zone is where you begin to align who you are, with who you’re meant to be.

As I’ve gotten older and learned more about health and fitness, I’ve become more and more interested in learning new techniques, practices, and ideas regarding exercise, diet, and overall well-being. I believe in a holistic approach to health that accounts for the body, mind, and spirit. There are many pieces to the puzzle, and there is not one approach that fits best for every single person. I’ve taken it upon myself to research science-based information and explore many options, so I can help each individual to the best of my ability. Not only do I want my clients to become better physically, but also mentally and spiritually. I believe that this approach not only helps in a small way, by making each individual better, but also a larger way, by making the world better one person at a time. I want my life’s legacy to be making a positive impact on the world, by making a positive impact on as many individuals as I can.

Although most of my experience is with young adult athletes, I am committed to continually learning the wants and needs of various client populations, and learning approaches that work best for each individual. If you have an interest in growing in all areas of life, book a consultation! I look forward to meeting you!
