This month's question: Do you like to workout with technology or without?
Danielle: Yes and no… I like to know what it says I’m doing, but I am usually messing around with it more than I should be.
Hannah: Yes, my Garmin watch is my go to device for tracking all things running!
Kylie: I prefer without, however, I do wear my MyZone when I remember to!
Rachel: I enjoy using the Myzone HR monitor to watch my intensity and recovery during workouts and to track the stats after. But at times I am also happy just to move without a care in the world and no numbers. :)
Abbe: I rarely workout with tech. I’ve made great progress by learning to listen to my body. I do think they are great tools for cardiovascular health.
Jen: I prefer to workout while wearing a HR monitor and apple watch.
Michelle: I prefer to use technology. I like the instant feedback I get regarding heart rate and distance (if walking or running).
Linda: I like to work out with technology because using a tracking app helps me to track my workouts & let's me know if I am working hard enough.
Lori: I love the technology that is available because it has so many applications and can be customized to any fitness level. I also find, though, that it can be easy to become a "slave" to the tech. Does a workout not really "count" if you forget to wear your tech? I have said these words to myself and that is when I know it is time for break from the Fitbit, the Garmin, the MyZone.....whatever it may be. Workouts contribute to my health, my mental wellness, my social connection and all of that means way more than MEPs. So, yes, I love the fitness technology when I keep myself in check and use it for all the right reasons!
Anna: TECH! Because then I can try to beat my previous self, or work harder to get into the next “zone.”
