By Anna Evans, Office Master & Food Spiralizer!
Food, we all love it! The colors, smells, and of course the flavors; food is a wonderful thing. And without food we wouldn’t survive. I myself am a food fanatic, I love being in the kitchen, and even more so I love trying out new recipes.
Awhile back I came across a post on Pinterest about a Veggie Spiralizer. Believe me I know what you’re thinking, “A what?” That’s right a Veggie Spiralizer, it takes your fresh vegetables and turns them into spaghetti like noodles. You’re not impressed are you? Well what if I told you that this small kitchen gadget does way more than just turn your veggies into spirals? After checking out the “spiralizer” I found is that it actually opens up a whole new world of healthy, tasteful recipes.
First, I needed to purchase this crazy awesome gadget. For that I have one word for you, Amazon! For under $15.00 you can find and purchase the Veggie Spiralizer on Amazon! Once my precious new cooking tool arrived I started to look at all the different recipes I wanted to try. Fruits, vegetables; hot, cold, the options were endless. Eventually I decided to go with 2 one hot & one cold recipe to see which would be more popular. And who better to try out my new recipes other than my wonderful Intelligent Fitness family. So I decided to go with 5 Ingredient Spinach Parmesan Zucchini Noodles & Roasted Corn & Zucchini Salad with Chili Lime Vinaigrette. (click for recipes!)
Let me tell you, spiralizing was AWESOME! You can go from a whole zucchini to a bowl full of veggie noodles in a matter of of seconds. You put one end of the veggie into the spiralizer, twist, and BAM! That’s it. However, a word to the wise, unless you want to eat 3ft long noodles make sure you snip them off at the desired length before continuing. Before I knew it both recipes were complete and I was left with just a few simple dishes to wash. Yay!
Making the recipes was super simple and fun, but the moment of truth was whether or not they tasted any good. I’m happy to say both recipes were a hit! They both have very different flavors and ingredients in them, and they were enjoyed by everyone. Definitely a worthwhile cooking gadget!
