“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results each time.”
Many of you come to us and you want to lose weight, or you don’t want to gain over the holidays, or you want to change your diet. You’ve said it out loud, so it’s going to happen…. Right? We get excited and think, “Maybe this is the time they will change!” So we give you tips, we give you recipes, we give you ways to measure your food, count your calories, and adapt to social settings. We monitor your body weight, we give you a calorie-torching workout, and we give you extra workouts for home, self circuits, and the Y. We even look up disease states and hormonal problems because “it must be hormones… I’m doing everything right!”
But in reality, if you don’t make these changes on a consistent, daily, even hourly basis when you are away from us, you won’t get where you want to be. Don’t continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. Insanity. Don’t be trapped in the repetition of your life as it is. You say you can’t do those things because you have too many social events over the holidays (eat healthy early or take food that you know are good for you), or your grandkids are in town and you want to give them the foods they like (really?), or you can’t try lighter and healthier foods because no one would want them. (My client Diana was Queen of the light Thanksgiving Dinner and no one knew the difference!) In reality, it’s your choice to do what it takes to escape. Heed our advice, we’ve been doing this a long time now, and get out of the rut of insanity.
